Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit, either. ~Elizabeth Zimmerman

A Fresh Twist for Spring-The New Twist Collective

One of the things I love about putting together the Spring issue is the incredible feeling of renewal and energy I get from it. Kate Gilbert, Twist Collective

If anyone had ever told me that I would look forward to opening an email as much as I do the happy announcement that arrives telling me that the  new Twist is "live" I would have told them they didn't know me at all!  Well I have learned that emails can in fact make you smile...and run for the needles!

The Spring Twist Collective is in fact live today and it is no April Fool's joke, but rather a delicious treat for every knitter who is longing to shed those bulky knits and cowls and mittens and hats...it's time for spring knitting and this issue of Twist is a joy!

This issue is  filled with a lovely mix of essential cardis and pullovers to "live in", flirty summer styles, classic transitional pieces that work through every season,  lacy socks and whispy shawls.

Better than Basic is all about that piece that you knit to "live in". Blue Daisy from Hillary Smith Callis, Quintet by Melissa Wehrle and Jenn Jarvis' Stellar are all designs that transition into any season and are the types of knits you will reach for all year long.

Paper Dolls with its fabulous whimsical paper cut-out presentation boards (above) features designs from Pam Allen, Whitney Gegg -Sandi Rosner,Susannah IC and Anne Berk that are all about the new season designed in yarns that shout spring!

At Jane's is described as "the best designs in the house" and they are all a knitter's playground with lace and cables and details to keep you clicking...Fiona Ellis' Harriet and Kristen Rengren's Madrigal will get you yarn hunting!

Two for Tea's focus is on "picnic perfect pieces for the balmy days ahead" -flirty, fun and all about lazy days. A must is Amy Ginger's cover girl Lizette

For those looking for that great light and portable project- Anne Hanson's Budding Apple shawlette and Mary- Heather Cogar's Avivah socks
